Episode five in a series of 360° videos around the Ards Peninsula & North Down is from Portavogie, a busy fishing village and the easternmost settlement on the island of Ireland. In this episode we discover a strong Ulster-Scots community where many of the people retain the accents, traditions and seafaring way of life of their Scottish ancestors, who first settled here in the mid 1500s. Along the way, we visit the busy working harbour and invite a special guest to prepare a delicious seafood chowder using locally fished produce.
